Well it's true what they say....St Paddy's Day is HUGE over here. We arrived at 51st street for just before 11am and left 2 hours later. The parade was fantastic and was still going when we left. We left to go to a pub as it was so cold (well thats our excuse anyway). 9 hours later after several boozers, several pints of guinness, several shots, and several irish tatoos (stick on ones)beads, t shirts later, we fell onto the subway and made our way home. The good thing was everyone on the subway was p*&^% so we did not look out of place. If anyone is thinking about coming over to NY for St Paddys Day, we recommend it. We can both honestly say that it was the best St Paddys Day we have ever had.
It is only 8.30am when we are posting this blog, so there is a good chance that we are both still drunk, so it may be amended later. We are now off to walk the streets to find a phone to call home and speak to our mammies as it is Mothers Day today. xx

Sounds just like what Dr St. Paddy ordered......
I helped Diageo shift some of its inventory here in Helensburgh. No marching bands, but several pints at a pound a pint (you'll know exactly which pub I mean), free Irish Stew and a Guinness-promo badge made for a good night. The landlord was on the other side of the bar, banging away on an Irish drum and dancing with the ladies, so it got as wild as you get in this sleepy wee place.
OK, it was good, but I'm starting to become a bit jealous! Enjoy it while you're young (enough to get ID'd)!!!
