2 week left to go of work....or only a week and a half if you're Mrs Blue. Had my first rabies injection on Friday - not too bad, except my arm felt a bit pins and needles for a bit and I felt a bit flu-ey (although that might be also because it's been chuckin it down and freezin for the last week).
Got our storage sorted and also went checkin out rucksacks at the weekend (I know, sad....but it has to be done). The one I wanted in the shops was £150, so I thought I'd leave it. I then saw the very same one, brand new, on ebay with only a few hours to go. I put in a bid and managed to get it for £87....hurray - good old ebay saves the day. I'll just need to keep my eyes peeled for one for Debo (although I reckon we'll have to buy it new....but you never know.
We've got a rough route about where we are going to go, but no specifics yet. The route will probably be: North America, South America, New Zealand and Oz, South East Asia and then India. Will fill out in a bit more detail once we've bought the tickets. We're not going to do that until we've got the collateral from the house sale....so we'll know sometime after the 9th of Feb.
On with the house clearing then !!

bedless - game's a bogey
Debo's not going to hospital after all..... why I hear you ask ? Cause the hospital has no beds left !!!! Why they phoned up a couple of days earlier to tell her to come in, I'll never know. Anyway the bottom line is she's not going.
I'm booked in for my rabies jab (£42 x 3 !!!! - but I suppose it's a small price to pay rather than suffering a horrid death see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabies for more info ) starting next Friday.... bring on the dogs.
Also started with the old Spanish learning again - hopefully it's all going to click into place when we hit South America, cause it's not staying in my head the noo !!
Adios

Last minute cancellation
Lucky Debo..... She's just been told by Monklands that there has been a last minute cancellation, so she's going into Monklands on Thursday to get her tonsils out !!!! We thought it's best to go now, rather than get tonsilitis when we were away, but OOYAH !!
On a plus note she says that it will do wonders for her figure, since she won't be able to eat solids for the following days/weeks.....every cloud has a silver lining and all that.
We also checked out some storage at the weekend........let's just say it costs a little bit more than expected, but we can always shop around.
p.s. Many congrats to Sharon and Dom too on the new arrival of little baby Vincent

And so it begins
Happy new year.....and it is !!
We had confirmation of the missives just before Xmas.....and I handed in my notice just after. So at last the ball is well and truly rolling (only took about 9 months to sell the house !!). We're moving out on Feb the 9th and then it will be a month (or so) to let us get everything sorted for the trip. All our injections are done (except I have to get rabies) and we'll have to sort out some malaria tablets. So it's time to get organised
No work for a year....ya dancer !!
